Time for another SAL update. I’m happy to report that I’m doing the “happy dance”! I finished my project! Here is were I was last time
I saved the easiest section for last, even though I didn’t know it when I started. 😀. I’m really happy with the way it turned out. I have one more kit to do in this series, but have not started it. I need a break and something with more colors.
So I decided to make this cute Halloween scene from The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery. They have a lot of cute stuff on their website. You can get a kit or just the charts. I opted for the chart. Here is what their finished project look like……
And my project.
I decided to do a natural colored background. I really like it. I only have a couple more letters and the brim left to do. (Thanks to cold and windy days and a long car ride 😀) This one was much easier, not that many color changes!
My next project is going to be a Halloween one too. This a kit I got. Hopefully next time I’ll be doing 2 “happy dances” but the next kit has beads in it and I’ve not done beads before, so we’ll see.
Be sure and check out what the others in the SAL have been working on……

Well it time for another SAL update. This is where I was last time.
I’ve made some progress. I only have 3 more rows and some line work to do and then this section will be done. Then only one more section to go. Hopefully I’ll be doing the happy dance next update. I’m ready for a project with a little more color in it.
Check out what the others have been doing. We also have a new member Jackie,

I think I have been inspired to start making cards again. Card making is usually the hobby I do the most, but summer is a hard time for me. First we have tons of company and then I have to bring what I think I need with me (we spend summers in a small town high in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado)
For some reason this summer, every time I start a project I seem to find early on that I’m missing something. For the last 2 cards though I’ve seemed to have all the supplies. So I’m going to keep making Halloween cards for awhile, since they seem to be working. LOL
Once again I found my inspiration off Pinterest. I just put the stamp set I wanted to use in the search box and lots of ideas came up. I really like this card from Dawn Griffith. The stamp sets I used were from Stampin Up. I used Halloween Scares and Spooky Fun. I really like both these sets. Dawn was so nice to post a Video on YouTube, which I followed. I didn’t really change anything, just followed along. I did decorate the front of my envelope too.
So here is my card…….

This was a tri-fold card……first inside
I finally got around to making a card. I have been working on many projects, but don’t seem to be able to finish much for one reason or another. So today I decided I was going to make a card from start to finish. 😀
Since it is September and Halloween will be here before you know it I thought I’d make a Halloween card. I found my inspiration from a card on Pinterest. The card I saw first was a Christmas card (that I plan on using another day). The card I saw had a comment that she used another card for inspiration. After following a few links I finally found this card that Hobbydujour posted on Splitcoast Stampers. I liked it so much I had to order the die set she used.
Here is my card…..
I enjoyed making this card and hopefully it will inspire me to start making more.
Until next time
I’ve been feeling lately like I want to blog more. Share more then once every 3 weeks. So with that being said I’m going to try to post at least once a week. I’m putting it out there so I will have some accountability. 😀
Life has been super busy, July is one of our busiest months, so crafting goes by the way side. But now that it is almost September things have slowed down so I have been able to get some sewing and cross-stitching in. I have already shared my cross-stitch progress, but thought I’d share what else I’ve been doing.
Several years ago I started using cloth napkins instead of paper ones. I just like them better, they are usually bigger for one thing. When I started using the cloth ones my husband was like oh, fancy lol. Now if I give him a paper napkin he says, what no cloth ones.
At first I was buying my napkins, but thought it would be fun to make my own. So now I’m always on the lookout for cute prints to make napkins.
I start out cutting my napkins into an 18″ square. I found on Pinterest several years a great idea to use chipboard with a quarter inch line marked on it to make my seam allowance. It works great. Now my seams are even and easy to sew.
This is what it looks like. (As you can tell I’ve used it a lot lately).
After I iron down the edges I miter the corners, then sew the seams and have a napkin.
Here are the napkins I have finished this summer.
I did 12 4th of July napkin
These are the rest I finished.
So I have made 36 napkins in all. Wow I didn’t realize I have made so many until I counted them up for this post.
I love all the colors and designs you can use. I even have material that has Happy Birthday on it and plan on using them when we have our family Birthday parties. Hopefully I’ll get to those in the next week.
What a difference 3 weeks makes 😀. Once July was over ( it is our busiest month, lots of company and activities) I have had some me time and have been able to get lots of stitching in. I was so glad to finish the first part. I had a feeling that it was the hardest, lots of solid areas with lots of color changes. I was right. The second part went much faster! I even missed up one part and had to pullout 3 days worth of work. 😕 I have even started the third section. Loving the progress I’m making.
Here is what it looked like 3 weeks ago.
I really love the way the pattern is becoming clearer.
Be sure to check out the progress of the other members of the SAL.

Well it has been three weeks already, so it is time for another update. I’m a little late, but excited to say I have finished 1/4 of my project. I like to make copies of my patterns and on the larger ones I can’t copy the whole thing so it ends up being 4 copies. I have finished the 1st one! I think this was the one with the most stitches, so it should be down hill from here. 😀 I really like the way it turned out so far. I was a little worried I wouldn’t be able to see the details, but I’m please to say I can.
Where I was last time:
It really starting to look like a picture and not a blob lol.
We have had 2 new stitchers join us. Welcome Heidi and Connie! This is a great group and everyone is very encouraging. If anyone is interested in joining us please contact Avis. Be sure to check out what everyone else has done.
