July-SAL

Time again for a SAL update.

I haven’t had a lot of time to stitch these last 3 weeks. That’s OK though, since I’ve been doing fun things. 😀 Some traveling, company, etc.

I did get my Santas done. So a “happy dance” for me!

Here is where I was 3 weeks ago…..

And the finished piece…

They were so much fun to stitch.

I haven’t decided which project I want to start next, so I’ll show you what my next project is next time.

Please check out what the others have been doing, and I’ll see you in 3 weeks.

June-SAL #2

Wow it’s hard to believe the year is half over. How is tomorrow the first of July?

I have been able to get some stitching in these last 3 weeks. Feels good. I’m really liking the project. It is fun watching these Santas take shape.

Here is were I was 3 weeks ago.

And here I am today.

Finished left side border, the middle Santa and almost finished the top border. So all I have left is the third Santa and right border. May have a happy dance next time, will see how it goes 😀

Be sure and check out how the others are doing on their project.

Wow that 3 weeks just flew by. I can’t believe it’s time for another SAL update already.

I was able to get some stitching in this time. I have had a hard time deciding on a project lately, but finally picked one. The one I picked was a kit I’ve had for a long time now. It is a really fun stitch and I’m enjoying it a lot.

The name of this kit is Cheerful Santas. Here is a picture of what it will look like when it is finished.

Here is my progress so far. One very cute Santa done.

See you in 3 weeks, hopefully I’ll have a lot more of this stitched up.

Be sure to check out what the others in the SAL are working on.

SAL-April #2

Wow these last 3 weeks have flown by. I finished my sock. I’m really happy with the way it turned out. Love the new technique, and making both socks at the same time is the best. I see more socks in the future. The only change I made is the pattern is call for taller sock. I like my socks to be ankle length, so I just stopped when it was the length I wanted.

Here is the finished sock.

As for cross-stitch goes I got all but the post for the birdhouse done. Didn’t have the color, but have it now so I’m going to say I’m done. Yeah!

Not sure what I want to work next, so it will be a surprise next time 😄

Be sure to check out what the others have been up to.

See you in 3 weeks.

SAL-April

Sorry I’m late for the latest update on Sunday. I was at a retreat this last weekend and totally spaced it out. So will catch up now.

I’m afraid I don’t have much to show in the way of cross-stitching. I did start a small project from The Frosted Pumpkin. I really need to get some of my Spring/Easter samplers finished. Here is what the one I am working is going to look like.

And here is what I have done. Not much I’m afraid, but this is a fast project so hope to finish soon.

As I said earlier I was at a retreat this last weekend. I belong to a wonderful knitting group that meets one night a week. One of our ladies has a cabin not to far from us in the mountains and invites us all to spend the weekend to knit, chat, eat and drink. It is always a great time. I had a lot of projects planned, (always over estimated how much I’ll get done 🤣) but 3 of us wanted to learn to knit socks from the toe up. I have made socks before but always from the cuff down. I’m usually not happy with the way the toe fits, so thought I’d try this method. So far I’m loving it. The toe is more comfortable and I can try it on as I go to adjust for my foot.

This is the pattern I chose to knit, it called Pebbles and Pathways Sock.

Here is want the sock will look like.

This pattern is really well written, had no problems learning this new technique. I also learned to knit them with the Magic Loop method. It is knitting the sock in the round with one long circular needle instead of 4-5 small straight needles. I’m also knitting both socks at the same time, so when I finish I’ll have to sock done and not have to start the second one. So it was a big weekend of firsts, but I’m totally hooked on all the new methods, was the only project I worked on the whole weekend 😀

Here is my sock so far……

As you can imagine most of my crafting time is going into knitting these socks. The pattern is for a regular sock, but I like shorty socks better so I’m thinking I will make them shorter.

Will have to start working some on my cross-stitching too though. So many projects I want to do and finish, and only so much time. Oh well, I’ll just enjoy them all and not place pressure on myself to finish in a certain time frame. 😀

Please check out want the others have been up to.

Next update is April 28th. See you in 2 weeks.

SAL-March

It that time again for my SAL update. I’m happy to report I have something to show you this time. 😀

I still am not having much luck with my Pumpkinville sampler. If you remember I had to start over because I was one stitch off. Well I tried again, but it seems I just can’t count right now. I started in the center this time, hoping this would work, but some how I was off again. So for now Pumpkinville is in a time out. I’ll come back to it, but need a break and to figure out how I want to make it work.

As you can see the banner just isn’t centered

So for now I think I’m going to work on some smaller projects and catch up on some of the holiday patterns I have from The Frosted Pumpkin. I made a list awhile back of the patterns I had from the Frosted Pumpkin and realized I have quite a few I haven’t stitched. So I’m going to be working on those for now.

Since St Patrick’s day was coming up I decided make some of those.

The first one I did was called St Patrick’s Day from the Pen Pal Collection. I thought the little girl was so cute.

Here is my finished piece.

I like to decorate for the holidays so I framed her and added her to collection

The next project I did was called Luck and Clover. Here is my finished project.

I also got this one framed.

And added to my decorations…

So I have two “Happy Dances” this time.

I have a couple of more St Patrick’s Day to do, but think I’m going to work on Spring/Easter projects next.

The next update is April 7th.

Please check out what the others in the SAL have been up to.
