August -SAL Getting Ready #2

Well it time again for a SAL update. It’s hard to believe it’s August already.

I was able to get some stitching done. It’s hard to see a lot of it as it’s mostly off-white on a white canvas 🤪

Here is what the finished project is going to look again…..

Where I was 3 weeks ago…..

And now……..

This is the upper left hand corner. I was able to start the chalk board. It sure feels good to be able to do some stitching again.

Please check out what the others have been doing in the stitch-a-long.

See you in 3 weeks for another update.

July-SAL Getting Ready #1

Hello everyone, it’s that time again for a Stitch-A-Long update. Wow these last 3 weeks just flew by.

I’m afraid I don’t have much to share this time. I have tried to be monogamous to my backstitching, but it just not working for me. 😩 It seems that I find other craft projects to do, just so I don’t have to backstitch. So yesterday I made the decision to start another project. I’m not going to put my other project away, I’ll still work on it a little at a time, but I’m missing cross-stitching, hence the new project.

So here is the little I got done on my backstitching………

Last update….

And now…..

I was able to get the tree, snowshoes and half the moose backstitched.

The project I started is the one I mentioned a couple of updates ago. It’s called “Getting Ready”

Here is what it will look like when I’m done……

As I said I started it yesterday, so I haven’t much stitching done and what little I’ve done is hard to see right now as it’s off white thread on a white background. I started in the upper left hand corner.

Hopefully I’ll have more to share next time. See you in 3 weeks.

Please check out what the others in the SAL have done.

Well it seems I’ve had a few glitches, but hopefully they are fixed!

I’ve mentioned in the past that backstitching really isn’t my favorite part of cross stitching. It’s still true and I had a hard time starting on this project. I kept finding other projects, (knitting, sewing , weaving, etc) to do. I finally told myself I have to finish this project before I start a new one, so just do it. This is the reason I now backstitch as I go. 🤣

Here is were I was last update…….

And now……

I was able to finish the panel with the cabin and deer…..

Now that I’ve started I’m ready to keep going and finish. Hopefully next update.

Please check out what the others in the SAL are doing and I’ll see you in 3 weeks.

May-SAL #2

Well it’s been 3 weeks again. Hope everyone is well.

I have a happy dance this time! I finished my sampler. So nice to have it completed.

Here is were I was last time……

And now the finished piece……

Now I just need to figure out if I want to frame it or what.

Since I had finished my current project, I was going thorough my kits and came across some unfinished projects. I came across this one that I thought would look nice with the one I just finished. It seems it is all stitched except the backstitching. (I think I’ve mentioned before that backstitching is my least favorite thing to do 😀). So my plan is to finish this one before moving on.

I also came across this project that looks like it only has about half an hour to maybe an hour to finish so I’m putting it in the queue.

I had another project in mind to start, but I can’t seem to be able to find it. (I mentioned that I had to change craft rooms, so now some things are harder to find 🤪) But I did find this one so right now it is my new project. Avis and Claire both did this piece awhile back and I really liked it so bought one for myself.

See you in 3 weeks, stay safe and please check out what the other members of the SAL are working on.

September-SAL #2

Three weeks have flown by again and it is time for a SAL update.

I was able to get more stitching time these last 3 weeks. It felt good to be able to work on my project.

As a reminder here is what my project will look like when it is finished…..

Here is where I was last update……

And here is where I am now……

I finished the upper half of the snowman and got most of his backstitching done. I also finished the deer and couldn’t resist backstitching his face. It sure makes a difference. Was also able to finish the polar bear’s head except for his eyes. Just have the scarf on the left an the backstitching to finish and then I’ll be done with the top part of the project.

We have 2 new members join us this update, so please welcome Susan and Anne. Also be sure to check out what the other members have been working on.

See you in 3 weeks for another SAL update.

Good morning. Sorry I’m late for my update. Sunday was Mother’s Day here and I had a great day, but totally forget to post. Then the next thing I know it’s Wednesday, so here we are.

I’m afraid I haven’t finished my project, so no happy dance this time. The good news is that I have more time to decide what to do next lol. I’m sure I’ll have a new project started next time, I don’t have much left now. Just the backstitching on the lake word panel and the chevron below that then I’m done.

Here’s were I was last update……

And where I am now…..

I didn’t think I had been able to get much stitching time in, but now that I see last update’s photo and this one I realize I did quite a bit.

We have a returning member this time. Please welcome Helen back. Also be sure and visit the other members in the SAL and see what they have been up to.

See you in 3 weeks.

July-SAL

Time again for a SAL update.

I haven’t had a lot of time to stitch these last 3 weeks. That’s OK though, since I’ve been doing fun things. 😀 Some traveling, company, etc.

I did get my Santas done. So a “happy dance” for me!

Here is where I was 3 weeks ago…..

And the finished piece…

They were so much fun to stitch.

I haven’t decided which project I want to start next, so I’ll show you what my next project is next time.

Please check out what the others have been doing, and I’ll see you in 3 weeks.

Wow it’s hard to believe the year is half over. How is tomorrow the first of July?

I have been able to get some stitching in these last 3 weeks. Feels good. I’m really liking the project. It is fun watching these Santas take shape.

Here is were I was 3 weeks ago.

And here I am today.

Finished left side border, the middle Santa and almost finished the top border. So all I have left is the third Santa and right border. May have a happy dance next time, will see how it goes 😀

Be sure and check out how the others are doing on their project.

Wow that 3 weeks just flew by. I can’t believe it’s time for another SAL update already.

I was able to get some stitching in this time. I have had a hard time deciding on a project lately, but finally picked one. The one I picked was a kit I’ve had for a long time now. It is a really fun stitch and I’m enjoying it a lot.

The name of this kit is Cheerful Santas. Here is a picture of what it will look like when it is finished.

Here is my progress so far. One very cute Santa done.

See you in 3 weeks, hopefully I’ll have a lot more of this stitched up.

Be sure to check out what the others in the SAL are working on.
