SAL September

Time for another SAL update and I can’t believe it’s September already. This year is sure going by fast!

I have decided that I want to get some UFO’s finished, and since I was on Halloween, I decided to stick to that theme.

I found this project and I think the last time I worked on it was October of last year, so almost a year ago. It was a mystery SAL from The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery . The name of the pattern is Midnight Way. I really like their patterns, they are so cute, have lots of color and seem to stitch up fast.

Here is were I was a year ago……..

And here I am now…..

As you can see I have had some time to stitch these last 3 week ( well really the last month.)

I was able to finish “Broom Hilda’s” broom shop and start on the “Ghost Writer Book Shop”. The next shop is going to be a pet store and then there is a border under the shops. It has been fun watching the shops grow.

Looking forward to seeing how much I can get done by the next update.

Please check out what the others in the SAL have been up to and I’ll see you in 3 weeks.

SAL August

Unfortunately I haven’t had much time these past 3 weeks to work on my stitching, but that is a good things as I’ve been busy doing other things 😀

I did want to share with you though my Black Hat Society all framed up. My friend loved it.

Don’t sure what I will be working on next. I don’t want to give up totally on “Getting Ready” but feel I need to work on something with more color. Maybe I’ll have to trade off on 2 different projects for awhile.

Please check out what the others in the SAL have been working on and I’ll see you in 3 weeks. Hopefully I’ll have more to show you.

July SAL #2- Black Hat Society Happy Dance

Well I finally have a happy dance to report! I have finished my Black Hat Society. I’m very excited that I got it done before my “deadline”. Also very glad that I started when I did because, I never would have made it otherwise.

Here’s where I was last update…..

And now the finished project…….

I’m sure my girlfriend is going to love it, but I’ll let you know in the next update.

I think now I’ll work some more on Getting Ready, but I also have some UFOs I want to work on so maybe I’ll alternate between those projects

Please be sure and check out what the others are working on, and I’ll see you in three weeks.

April-SAL

Sorry I’m a day late with this update. Right now the days just run together and it seems I’m either a day ahead or a day behind. 🤪

We are all still good here. No sickness, which is really good as 2 of our granddaughters are essential works and have been working regularly.

I was able to get some stitching time in, so that is good. With us all being home I keep thinking I’ll catch up on some of my projects, but I think I have to many to catch-up. 😀 Plus everyone is home.

Here is where I was 3 week ago……

And here I am now…

I finished the pine come and the wording on the top half. I also finished the tree and did the backstitching. It hard to tell, but I have most of the background for the bear done too (it’s cream so hard to see right now).

I think I’ll finish this by the next update, so now I have a hard decision to make. What project to start next. 😀

We have a new member join us this time. Welcome Sherrie to the group! Be sure and check out what she and the others have been doing.

See you in 3 weeks.

March-SAL #2

Hope this finds you all well and heathy. Things sure are crazy right now. We are all doing good and no sickness so far.

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome back. It’s great to be back.

I haven’t been stitching much, but was able to get some done. For some reason the pinecone was giving me trouble. I had to rip it back a couple of time before I finally figured it out. I started to do the backstitching of the pine needles, but stopped because I just wasn’t feeling it. I think I’ll give that a break and work on the other panels.

This is were I was 3 weeks ago.

And where I am now

I’m hoping I’ll be able to get more stitching in the weeks ahead. I have another project I want to start, but told myself I have to wait until I finish this one.

Please check out what the others in the SAL have been doing and I’ll see you in 3 week.

Stay well.

March-SAL

First off I need to apologize for being gone for so long. Life has gotten really crazy! First there was Christmas, then our daughter and her 3 girls have moved in with us in January. It is a big life change for all of us, but I also had 2 rooms that had to be totally cleaned out of 20 years of stuff. One of the rooms was my craft room 🙁. I had so much stuff that I had to go through and so many decisions to make that by end of the day I was so tired that I just wanted to sit and do nothing. So needless to say I haven’t gotten any stitching done.

Trying to decide on a project has been hard too, so I have decided to work on this project.

I thought that this was cute and would go great in our cabin. Also it is a small, easy project which is what I need right now.

I was able to make some progress. Doesn’t look like much, but I’m actually almost half done.

Please check out what the others in the SAL have been working on. We have 2 new members this time. Welcome Laura and Cathie

See you in 3 weeks.

November SAL #2

Well another 3 weeks has flown by and I’m afraid I don’t have much to share.

The snowmen are still in time out, but I have chosen a project to work on. The Frosted Pumpkin has another mystery SAL called The Nutcracker Parade. I really enjoy these projects. Unfortunately I have been so busy, that I haven’t had time to even start it.

This is as far as I’ve gotten……

Hopefully things will slow down in the next 3 weeks and I will have some progress to share.

Be sure and check out what the others are working on, I’m sure the have more then I did to share 😀

November-SAL

Wow the last 6 weeks have just flown by! Sorry I missed the last update, life has been super busy, with traveling and everyday life stuff.

I’m afraid I have nothing new to share on my snowmen. I’ve decided to put them in a time out. I wasn’t really happy with the white background and the snowmen colors. I thought that once I started backstitching they would stand out better, but unfortunately they didn’t. So I’m putting them aside for now, until I decide if it bothers me enough to start over with a darker background.

So I’ll probably be starting a new project soon.

Be sure and check out what the others have been up to, I’m sure more then I have 😀

We have a returning member, Connie, welcome back Connie.

Next update is November 24th

September-SAL

Wow I can’t believe it’s been 6 weeks, and I missed an update. It has been a busy summer. Lots of good things happening, just busy and not much time for stitching.

I finally decided on a project. Guess I’m still in a Christmas mood, although I think I’ll use this one in January when I decorate with snowmen.

Here is the picture from the kit.

Sorry it’s not a great picture, but you get the idea.

Here is what I have been able to get done so far. It’s kind of hard to see, since it is mainly white, cream, soft grey and soft blue threads on a white background. I probably should have picked a different background, but that is what came with the kit, so I went with it. I’m sure it will better once I put in the backstitching.

The backstitshing is hard to do as you go because you have to finish a least a couple of spaces of the animal next to the one you just finished. I have finished the snowman’s head and around it so will be backstitching that soon. I just hate waiting until the end, because then I don’t get it finished. 🤪

Be sure to check out what the others in the Stitch-A-Long have been up to and I’ll see you in a couple of weeks.
